Backpacking is an incredible way to experience the outdoors in a truly immersive way. There are countless studies indicating the benefits of spending uninterrupted time outside, with more benefit the longer you are in nature. These benefits include decreased cortisol levels (the stress hormone), increased emotional regulation (think anger control), and increased immune response, just to name a few.
At GeesExpeditions, we believe everyone deserves to reap these benefits as well as feel comfortable and confident in the backcountry while you do so. Our backpacking offerings go above just taking you outside and we hope you complete our programming feeling proud of yourself and what you accomplish!
We have different options available for every person, but every option includes a training regiment, educational meetings to help you prepare, access to equipment, and of course, our guidance along the way. Read on to learn about our offerings and reach out if you have any questions or requests.

This is a great option if you are new to backpacking, camping, or even sleeping on the ground. These trips are typically shorter in length and duration to help participants become more comfortable with backpacking.

We are true believers that age is only a number. Whether you have backpacked before, or are trying something new, these trips are for you! It is necessary to be able to get down on the ground and back up to participate.

You don't have to worry about planning a thing! We will take the information you provide us when you fill out the inquiry form, and plan an epic backpacking trip personalized for you!
Any permits needed will be secured, the menu will be thought out, the daily mile count will be calculated. We'll even send you a packing list to follow in order to be prepared!
All you have to do is open your emails and follow our instructions. Epic trip building memories with minimal effort, anyone?
No matter which backpacking trip you pick, we'll work with each participant in your trip to build an exercise plan tailored to each person's current fitness level and the trip you are planning to do.
Carrying weight on your back, shoulders, and hips over long distances is not something most people are doing in their normal day to day. By creating and following a training plan before your backpacking trip, you are setting yourself up for a better trip and you will be much more likely to enjoy your time on the trail.
We will ask each person to answer a few questions to determine your base line, then we will build everyone a personalized workout plan, taking into account whether you have a gym membership or not. Everyone will receive weekly emails leading up to your trip with that week's workout plan and a place to record what you accomplish each day. The following week's workouts will take into account what you accomplished the previous week. All leading up to the week of your trip.
You will have the choice of a training program that is 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, or a custom amount of time (over 4 weeks).


From looking up the current trail conditions, to finding if a permit is required, to packing your pack, a lot goes into planning a backpacking trip.
We will do all of the work of planning your trip and putting everything together so you don't have to stress. Then, we will send each step we did each week so you can learn the process. That way, if you want to plan a backpacking trip in the future, you will have a roadmap of how to do it.
We will also send helpful articles and information for you to read. These will help you feel more informed and confident when we hit the trail. Some of this information will be standard across all of our backpacking trips, while some information will be specific to the type of trip you select.
Based on your group's food allergies and preferences, we will build a meal plan for your trip. Depending on the length of your backpacking trip, this might include freeze dried meals, prepackaged foods, and fresh ingredients all catered to your specific group.
We will send informative articles and videos on how to cook in the backcountry, and you can even opt into a class (schedule permitting) on cooking in the backcountry.
The week of your trip, we will provide your menu for the week and we can also provide the food to follow that menu. You can, of course, make specific requests or bring your own things, but you can consider your food taken care of.


This is an opt-in option for those that need it.
We have all the gear you need to have a successful backpacking trip and you can add on any of the gear you may need to complete your trip. Whether you need just one piece of gear, or the whole setup, we have you covered. We aim to keep the costs of our rentals as low as possible, just enough to cover costs of replacement for when that is needed, and much cheaper than buying a new piece of equipment.
If you are just getting into backpacking, but aren't sure you want to financially commit yet, or you are slowing building your collection of gear, this is a great addition for you!
